Welcome, Beginners

Pin It I am so glad you are here! I want to start with a beginners guide to couponing so you can start saving as much as I do!

:: There are many places to get coupons. The main place I get mine is from the Sunday paper. I have a subscription and then I buy more copies at the gas station. There are three different inserts that come in the paper, Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP), and Proctor and Gamble (P&G). Sometimes there isn't any inserts and sometimes all three are there.

:: You can get Internet Printables (IP), or coupons online. There are many different places online you can get them. The most popular is coupons.com. You can also google the product with the word coupon after it and it will pull up any coupons that there are out in internet world. Sometimes you can't print them because they are already expired or as they say the campaign is expired.

:: Magazines are also a great place to get coupons! I get the All-You magazine every month and if it has good coupons for me, I buy another copy. All-You is only sold at Wal-Mart and it runs about $2.50 an issue. They also have other great information in the magazine that makes it worth your money.

After you get your coupons built up then there's using them. You match up the sale ads with the coupons to get the LOWEST price possible. You do not cut the coupon the day you get it and run out and use it! That is what the biggest misconception of couponing is! You save those coupons until you can get the product very cheap or FREE!! When I see outstanding match-ups for the ads, I will post them. Before you go shopping, you should make sure have a list made out so there isn't any impulse buying! A very good way to not spend more then you want to at the grocery store is to only take in cash with you. Leave your credit cards or debit cards at home or in the car. If yo don't have good self control then at home is where they need to be.

When you are at the grocery store make sure you watch the prices of the item that you buy. Sometimes the sale price doesn't ring up. You want to make sure you are getting the price you should be!

Have fun with this, if it is a chore then you shouldn't be doing it! And remember, Couponing is the new black!
